Obituary of Edna Ruth Bowman

Edna Ruth Bowman, 86, of Soddy-Daisy passed away on Easter Sunday, April 9th at home surrounded by her family. Edna was a very simple woman, she was a single mother to her four children who she worked very hard to provide them a nice home. She retired from Signal Knitting Mill, was a member of union ILGWU and enjoyed reading in her spare time. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Ada Lee West; daughter, Cheri V. Hatfield; siblings, Betty Petty, Jane Beavers, Mary Hindman, James “Dood” West, Helen West, and Charles West. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Kevin (Melissa) Bowman, Tondja (Randy) Stewart, Sheila (William Corder) Crawley; grandchildren, Randy (Lauren) Stewart, Zac (Corynne) Stewart, Sean Bowman, Dustan (Rachel) Crawley, Shane Hatfield, Brandon Hatfield, Nichole (Cameron) Kennedy, Anna Mae (Nathan) Smith, Layton Corder and Scott Corder; twelve great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Terry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
