Ruth Keener, 95, of Hixson passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.   Ruth was a daughter of the late John Pendergrass and Martha Fugatt Pendergrass. She was an extremely independent person who loved working in her flower gardens and spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting all the yard sales and purchasing knick knacks to add to her already huge collection.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Keener; children, Agnew Keener and Vickie Harden; and siblings, Minnie Smith, Tone Simmons, and Dot Reel.   Ruth is survived by her daughter, Judy Goad; grandchildren, Kay (Tito) Mineno, Sue “Bucky” (Pat) Holland, and Teri (Jeremy) Morris; great grandchildren, Natasha Mineno, Shasta (Josh Bowers) Mineno, Tito Mineno II, Patrick “Bubby/Granny’s Budgie” (Brycen) Holland II, Brittany Holland and Shania Oliver; sister, Shirley Whitted; daughter, Doris (Mike) Rose and several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.   Graveside services will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Bro. James Eggert officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am-11:45am on Tuesday at the funeral home.   Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy-Daisy, TN (423) 843-2525.
