Edgar Dorsey Walter, III, a native of Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2023, in Naples, Florida, surrounded by his family.  He was 82.   Dorsey was born on August 25, 1940, in Chattanooga to Edgar Dorsey Walter Jr. and Josephine Chambers Walter.  He grew up on Lookout Mountain, graduated from the Baylor School in 1958 and from Columbia University in New York City.  He made his career in real estate in New York as an investor and landlord.   Dorsey is survived by his former wife, Ingela Walter, their seven children, Anna, Lisa, Edgar, Josephine, Sarah, Freddy, and John, and by Lisa’s son Brooks.  He is also survived by his sister and her family.  Dorsey will be greatly missed by his family and friends.   A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 12 noon at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4016 Tennessee Avenue, Chattanooga, and will be officiated by the Rev. Michele Simmons, Associate Priest at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Lookout Mountain.    Share your memories, stories and photos at wannfuneralhome.com.
