Floyd W. Craig, Jr. Floyd W. Craig, Jr, 89, of Chattanooga, TN passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2023 in a local hospital. He was born in Norfolk, VA in 1933 and graduated from Norview High School in Norfolk County. He received an AA degree in Chemistry from the Norfolk Division of Virginia Tech (now Old Dominion University) and a BA degree in Psychology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia where he received a football scholarship and was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. After graduation he was drafted into the U. S. Army as a Psychological Testing Officer and stationed in Roanoke, VA. He was last employed as Vice President of Human Resources at the Standard Coosa Thatcher Co. in Chattanooga, retiring in 2002. Before moving to Chattanooga he held similar positions at Carlton Yarn Mills, Salisbury, NC and Dan River Mills in Danville, VA. During his career he was active in the Jaycees, The Speech and Hearing Center and several other civic organizations. His hobbies were tennis, golf, fishing and Virginia Tech Football. He was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Gray Craig of Bramwell, West Virginia, father, Floyd W. Craig, Sr. and mother, Mildred B. Craig. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sarah Annette Craig, daughter, Laura Craig (Michael) Mullinax, son, Floyd W. “Bill” Craig, III, step-sons, William A. “Tony” Konrad and Steven “Scott” Konrad, step-daughter, Heather A. (Terry) Bradford, brother, Robert E. (Elizabeth) Craig and nephews, Robert Craig, Brian Craig and niece, Allison Craig as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Life Celebration Services will be held at the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy-Daisy, TN on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
