Please share a memory of Armeda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Armeda Brown, 94, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, July 17, 2022. Armeda was born December 24, 1927 in Old Washington, TN to Tom and Ada Marler. Ms. Brown was a graduate of Spring City High School then went on to graduate from McKenzie Business School. After graduating she was shopping at a local jewelry store when she was spotted by the owner, Frank Varallo. She was hired on the spot to work for his business Rone Regency Jewelers without ever having applied or having an interview. During her employment she formed a special bond with Mr. Varallo and his wife, Bootie. She remained a loyal and faithful employee for 66 years until she retired. Her greatest joy in her life was telling stories and her family. She never met a stranger and there was never anyone that was not drawn to her southern hospitality. She was truly one of a kind. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terrell Brown; her parents Tom and Ada Marler; brother Wilburn “Bud” Marler; sister-in-law Sylvia Johnson and niece Sharon Davis. Even though she never had any children of her own she was a mother to many. Survived are her nieces Kathy (Kirk) Arwood of Chattanooga, TN; Donna (Greg) Dabov of Memphis, TN and Nora Smith of San Antonio, TX. Nephews Tom (Kim) Marler of Monroe, GA and Eddie Pierce of Houston, TX. Special great niece Heather Davis and great great nephew James Angel both of Ooltewah, TN. Sister in law Jean Ridge of Lookout Valley, TN. Special friend Pam Evans of Harrison, TN who was more like a sister to her. A host of other loving family members and friends. Her final years were spent with her great niece Heather after the passing of Heather’s mom Sharon Davis. Thank you to the management team Jessica, Beth and Amy at East Ridge Retirement Residence and Heather’s uncle Parker Dale Davis during her transition enjoying her independence and making new friends at her residence. Thank you to Hospice of Chattanooga for the kindness and compassion you showed our beloved Armeda during her final hours. Also thank you to all of those who have given spiritual and emotional support to her and her family.
