Obituary of Bobbie Pace Broussard

Bobbie Pace Broussard, 87, died on December 15, 2021. A native of Baton Rouge and graduate of Istrouma High School, she left a legacy of volunteering and a deep love of the Baton Rouge community. Trained as a keypunch operator by IBM in high school, she used those skills to support her two daughters as a single mother. After retiring from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, she filled her days with helping the community, camping, and traveling. She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. From making quilts for neighbors during the Great Depression, leading a Girl Scout troop, and serving as the local president of Zonta International, Bobbie made a point to give back during every decade of her life. In her later years, she enjoyed serving with the Senior Volunteer Program of Baton Rouge and Baton Rouge General Hospital. A gifted seamstress and crafter, she also sewed for Threads of Love and participated in Crocheting for a Cause. She was proceeded in death by her parents H.N. Pace and Beatrice Carter Pace, her twin sister, Billie Wennerlund, sister, Jackie Roshto, and daughter, Brenda Scrimager. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Royer, son-in-law, Larry Royer, granddaughter, Adrienne Royer, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on March 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church, which is located at 12855 Old Hammond Highway in Baton Rouge.
