So sorry to hear about Mark, I knew the family for many years, especially on Gilbert Lane & Berea. He could hit a mean wiffle ball, when we played in the back yard at Gilbert Lane. You all are in our thoughts & prayers.

So very sorry to hear of Mark's passing. He, Johnny and their sisters grew up behind us.. Patsy and John were friends with my mom, dad and family. Mark and I worked at the bank together in the 70's. All the girls were in love with him. He was so gorgeous and had the best smile ever. A super guy with a great personality. May God bless you all during this sad and difficult time. With love ❤

Mark and I became friends in 1967 during our senior year even though he went to South and I went to Young. We met when we both worked at the Knoxville News Sentinel on Saturday nights. I have many memories that involves Mark but here are some of the most memorably. Did you know that Mark was in the UT band in the Fall of 1968. Thanks to the help of some upper classmen we got him on the color guard team. Never will forget the expression of the band director when he asked Mark what instrument he played and Mark told him guitar. We use to laugh that he's probably the only person that has ever been a member of the band who didn't play an instrument. Lots of memories from the band trips that year.
When Mark married his first wife (Vicky) I was the person designated to getting him to the church on time when. I remember he was nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Then when I came home on leave from the Navy, Janice Atchley (South 1968 graduate) and I decided to drive over to Bryson City, NC to get married at the Justice Of The Peace, Mark and Donna Ballard when with us. Needless to say even though we hadn't communicated in years, the many memories of Mark will be with me until we are rejoined together again in the presents of heavenly Father. I'll be praying for your families that our Father will surround with peace in your heart. Take care
