Obituary of Jean Lois Reese

Jean Lois Reese, age 89, “almost 90” passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021. Jean moved to Tennessee from Michigan years ago. She was a very strong woman who was widowed at the age of 25 with six children. She was a very fun, patriotic and active person, and made the very best biscuits and gravy, especially for George. She traveled hundreds of miles with her late husband, Claude. Jean was a member of Middle Valley Methodist Church, was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved Freddie Freeman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Eichelkraut and Ethel Braithwaith; husband, Claude Reese; son, Michael “Mort” Holloway and siblings, Joan, Mike, George, Oliver and Pat. Jean is survived by her children, George (Brenda) Holloway, Danny (Lynda) Holloway, Nancy (Terry) McDaniel, Trisha (Mike) Marlow, and Debbie (Jamie) Rowden; sister, Janet Fintor; her sweet chihuahua, Marlow; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 2nd in the funeral home chapel with L.J. Rowden officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with her grandsons, Michael Holloway, Billy Holloway, Rick Holloway, Stephen McDaniel, Kevin Miller, and Mike McNeal serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
