Obituary of James Edward Satterwhite

James Edward “Jimmy” Satterwhite, Sr., age 78, of Soddy-Daisy passed away Monday, October 25, 2021. He was born on October 30, 1942 and was a resident of Soddy-Daisy for over 50 years. Jimmy was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines and then worked for Sheet Metal Local #5, where he retired after 50 years of employment. He loved playing the lottery and shopping at Walmart. Jimmy was a gentle loving husband, father, and paw paw. He is so loved and will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Wilmus Irene (Laney) Satterwhite; daughter, Melony Lynne McGinnis; granddaughter, Misty Delove Bennett; and great grandson, Easton Childs. Survivors include his devoted wife of 58 years, Margaret (Goins) Satterwhite; sons, James Edward (Beverly) Satterwhite, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN; Stephen (Greta) Satterwhite of Soddy-Daisy; daughters, Starla (Randy) Ryan, Dawn (Chris) Morrow, Christy (Bobby) Webb, all of Soddy-Daisy, and Sierra Satterwhite of Palm Harbor, Florida; twelve grandchildren, Tamara Schier, Chasity Marshall, Dakota McGinnis, Austin Bidwell, Ashley Cliff, Jacob and Blake Morrow, James, Brandy, Richard, Dylan and Logan Satterwhite; seventeen great-grandchildren and brother, Ricky Satterwhite of Soddy-Daisy. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Friday, October 29th in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Micky Bane officiating. Interment will follow in Penney Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Thursday and from 12 Noon until funeral time on Friday at the funeral home.
