Obituary of John Michael Bolus, Sr.

John M. Bolus, Sr. (“Popi”), age 80 years, of Soddy Daisy, TN, passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 at home surrounded by his loved ones. A graduate of Central High School, he was a U.S. Army Veteran (1963-1967), a member of the Daisy Lodge #706 and a 50 + year Master Mason. The “consummate salesman”, he was outgoing and personable and enjoyed meeting and talking with others, making many lifelong friends. He enjoyed gathering with his family on any occasion and loved being Popi to his grandchildren, treating them to many adventures. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Bolus, grandparents Carl and Flossie Chase, brothers George (“Butch”) Bolus-Chase, Karl Bolus, Bobby Bolus, and sister Sheila Bolus. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vickie (Clark) Bolus, sons Mike (Karen) Bolus (Hixson), Woody (Lisa) Bolus (Soddy Daisy), and Jeff Bolus (Hixson), grandson Zack Bolus, granddaughters Lin, Teresa, and Sarah Bolus, brothers David (Anne) Bolus (Harrison), Billy Bolus, and sisters Lynda Bolus-Cody (Chattanooga), Raye (Mike) Brooks (Ft. Oglethorpe), and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, October 12th between 5 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. at the Daisy Lodge #706, 125 Oakwood Dr., Soddy Daisy, TN 37379. The family request in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Shriners Hospital for Children of Chattanooga. The family respectfully requests all visitors wear masks for the safety of all in attendance, especially those at greatest risk.
