Dot Arrowood On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, Doris “Dot” Elaine Arrowood of Soddy-Daisy, TN, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at the age of 85. Doris was surrounded by her family as she passed peacefully from this earth. Doris was born April 2, 1936 in Dayton, TN to Foley and Mary Desdamona Smith. She was a hairdresser for many years and enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, attending bluegrass festivals with her husband, Ellis, and gospel music. Wherever she was, she was always the brightest smile in the room. She will be thoroughly missed by her family. Memories of laughter, endless stories, and talks over a cup of coffee at the dining table will forever live in the memories of her loved ones. Doris was one of a kind and will be missed beyond measure. Her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, and sparkling blue-eyes made you feel at home. She had a heart of gold. She was so kind and always willing to help others in need. Not to mention, she was an incredible cook. You would never forget her famous sweet tea (it was the best), her delicious coleslaw, meatloaf, peanut butter cookies, and BLTs. She enjoyed hosting October bonfires in her backyard. She loved attending bluegrass music festivals and gospel singings where she formed some very special friendships. She loved her large family and was so proud of all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her heart was full of joy whenever all three of her “boys” were gathered together at home with her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Arrowood, daughter, Lisa Daw, father Foley Smith, mother Mary Desdamona Smith, brothers, Melvin Smith, Harold Smith, Tom Smith, Boyd Smith, Curtis Smith, and Clint Smith, James Arnold Smith and sister, Marie McDaniel. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her sons, Randy Doss, Ricky Doss, and Wayne (Cathy) Doss, grandchildren Fiona (Ricardo) Escalona, Andy (Jodi) Doss, Yvonne (Roy) Salcedo, Nina Doss, Rena Doss, Dominique “Nikki” (Joey) Jordan, Keelin Doss, Jason Doss, Jennifer Doss, Heather (Zach) Wilken, Wayne Doss, II, Kara Daw, and Dylan Daw, several great-grandchildren, special niece, Kathy Slatton, sister Faye Fiske, stepchildren, Robert (Karen) Arrowood and Lisa Arrowood, several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
