Obituary of Ruth Louise Maroni

Ruth Louise (Bell) Maroni, 93, departed this life to be with her savior on September 11, 2021. Ruth was born on June 12, 1928 to late John Lance Sr & Etta Ruth (Starnes) Bell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, John F Maroni, and her brother, John Lance Bell Jr. She is survived by a brother, Wesley A Bell and two sisters, Barbara (Bell) Garrison (Robert) and Rebecca Fouts. Ruth graduated from Central High School. She was married in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee on August 1, 1946 and moved to Syracuse New York, settling in the town of North Syracuse. They had four children, Etta Ruth Maroni who had son William, Mary Virginia Wright, who had two daughters, Lindsey and Christina. Sherry Louise Maroni who had one daughter, Jessica and John Joseph Maroni who had twin daughters, Morgan and Taylor. There are also several great grandchildren. She worked for a while driving a bus for the North Syracuse Central High School, she obtained a degree in accounting and went to work for the Onondaga County District Attorneys Office from where she retired. She returned to Chattanooga and settled in the Hixson area. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Soddy Daisy Tennessee. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at her church on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. by the Reverend Monsignor T. Allen Humbrecht. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Her remains will then be sent back to North Syracuse, New York to be interred next to her husband at North Syracuse Cemetery. The interment will be conducted by Fairchild & Meech Funeral Home, DeWitt Chapel.
