James "Jim" Carlos Johnston III, 71, of Ooltewah passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Jim was a 1969 graduate of Kirkman Technical High School. He was a machinist at McKee foods and retired working in the parts cage after more than 30 years of service. Jim loved to fish, and when he wasn't fishing, he loved to talk about fishing. He was also an avid Tennessee Vol fan. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest son, and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Edna Johnston of Ooltewah; son, Jamie Johnston, of Soddy-Daisy; brother, Larry Michael Johnson of Ringgold; special niece, Carolyn Harding of Hixson and several other nieces, nephews and extended family. Graveside Services will be held Monday, August 9, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery including military honors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
