Obituary of Brenda Joyce Tate

Brenda Joyce Tate, 77, of Soddy-Daisy, TN went home to be with the Lord and some of her beloved family members on Sunday, April 4, 2021. Brenda “Memaw” was a home maker and helped raise many children in her family over the years, including her grandson, Gregg, and her great-granddaughter, Cassidy. She loved watching every game of Braves baseball, visiting with her family, and her Friday evening dinners with her niece, Janice. She will be remembered by many family members for the big meals she used to prepare for family gatherings and the love she gave to all of her family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Edith Wilkey Ward: father, Otis Ward; husband, Rufus Tate; daughter, Teresa Tate; brothers and sisters, Agnus Eustice, Nancy Collett, Tommy Ward, Bobby Ward, and Buddy Ward. She is survived by her grandson, Gregg (Amanda) Tate; great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Gunner Tate; brothers, Jackie (Linda) Ward and Don Ward; and several neices and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with Bro. Melvin Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Poe Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Hixson, Scotty Ward, Johnnie Reed, Leon Ward, Timmy McNabb, Ronnie Ward, and Chris Ward. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 9th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
