Obituary of Betty Lee Estabrook

Betty Lee White Estabrook the daughter of Hurley Gillis Lee and Nellie Girton Lee was born October 8, 1925. Betty attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky, where she was member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She was an Episcopalian and former member of Church of the Good Shepherd, a member of the Woodland Garden Club, and the Fairyland Club. She was a former docent of the Hunter Art Museum, a volunteer at the Museum gift shop, and the Good Shepherd Bookstore. Betty retired from Chubb Life (formerly Volunteer State Life Insurance Company), and was a member of the Chattanooga Personnel Association. She adored her family and spent part of each year in Wisconsin enjoying the family vacation cottage on Green Bay. There she attended “Play Girls”, a group of girls who enjoyed reading plays and playing Bridge together. She was an avid tennis player and a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers, and always an enthusiastic fan of the University of Kentucky Basketball Team. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Russell White, her second husband, Jerry Estabrook, her daughter, Pamela White Jones, and son-in-law, Yogi Jones. She is survived by her daughter Danalee White Gaddis (Reginald), a son Edward Gibson White II (Karen), ten grandchildren, Lee Russell Gaddis Walker (Taylor), Scott Gaddis (Julie), Andrew Gaddis (Meredith), Lex Gaddis, Edward Gibson White,III (Sarah), William White (Laura), Jay White (Maggie), Grahm White, Kyle Gibson Jones Hawkins (Tim), Cannon Jones Wenzel (Nick). Ten great-grandchildren, Ellee and Chloe Walker, Madeline and Beckett White, Caroline and Elliot White, Jack White, Noah White, Noble Gaddis, and Bennett Gaddis. Please make donations to the Ronald McDonald House, Chattanooga Community Kitchen, or the charity of your choice. A private family service will be held at a later date at the family cottage in Wisconsin. Arrangements by Wann Funeral Home, (423) 821-7551.
