Obituary of William Franklin Smith, Sr.

William Franklin Smith, Sr, 73, of Soddy-Daisy passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at his home. William retired as a plumber after many years of service and was a member of East Daisy Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Pearl Smith; brothers, John Smith, Sr., Buddy Smith, Ernest Smith, Estel Smith, Chester Smith, Junior Smith, Floyd Smith and Jessie Smith; sisters, Louise Garcia and Betty Jean Hindman. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Smith; sons, William Smith, Jr., Greg Smith and Danny (Mary) Smith; brothers, David and Raymond Smith; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Melvin Walker and Bishop Jackie Penney officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-8 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
