Obituary of Geraldyne M. Franks

Geraldyne Myrtle Franks Geraldyne "Jerry" Franks, 92, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Soddy-Daisy Health Care. Born in Cleveland, TN, Jerry was a long time resident of Chattanooga before she and her husband returned to Cleveland to retire. Jerry retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee after many years of service. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Cleveland and previously a member of Central Baptist Church in Chattanooga. Jerry had a beautiful soprano voice and loved singing hymns in church. She was a member of the Triple C's Senior Group and active in her Sunday School Class. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, sister, brother-in-law and niece--especially to the beach. Jerry was preceded in death by her husband, Gale Franks, parents, Oscar Lee and Ruby Davis Giles, brother, Raymond Davis Giles, sister-in-law, Katherine R. Giles and brothers-in-law, Tommy Kile and Jessie Ray Holmes. Survivors include her three children, Roger (Debra) Franks, Ginger (Marlin) Sweeton and Andrea (Chris) James, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Virginia Holmes and Jean (Jackie) Evans and six nieces. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Due to COVID 19 masks and social distancing are mandated.
