Dorothy Alyne Aslinger Alyne Aslinger, 87, a life-long resident of Soddy-Daisy passed away Monday, December 14, 2020. She is preceded in death by her oldest son, Wayne Aslinger, Jr., her parents, Clyde and Marie Wilson, beloved sister, Jo Clift and adored Aunts Velma and Alice Wilson. Alyne is survived by her loving husband of over 69 years, Wayne Aslinger, Sr., daughter Becky Garland (Mick), son Lt. Colonel (Ret) Jerry Aslinger (Mary Ann), daughter Allison Hans (Jim), daughter-in-law Karen Rhodes (Wayne Jr.); four grandchildren, Andrew Aslinger (Lan Anh), John Aslinger (Ester), Alex Hans, and Abby Rhodes; three great-grandchildren William, Abigail, and Katherine; beloved siblings Glenn (Pat) Wilson and Ruth (Andy) Crawford. Alyne loved to cook, garden, and preserve – it showed her accomplishments. She never met a stranger. She was an accomplished Soddy-Daisy High School basketball player and an avid fan on The Lady Vols and Duke Men’s Basketball. Family and friends will hold graveside services at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, request memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
