I didnt know this amazing man had passed away. He performed a root canal on my probably 30 years ago when he was inventing his tools for that and I never forgot what he told me about his inventions. He was a genius but more he was so kind gentle and sweet I have never forgotten him and have spoken highly of him for all these years . Rest In Peace you amazing soul of God and many prayers for his family. He was definitely one of a kind on this earth we inhabit only for a little while until we return home to our father . God bless ✝️

I was told in February 1969 by a dentist in Elizabethton, Tennessee that my four front teeth were abscessed and they needed to be pulled. His dental assistant told me to find a young new dentist right out of school. I found Dr. McSpadden who had just started practice in Johnson City, Tennessee. I believe that I was his first patient to have an apicoectomy where he removed the roots of my four front teeth. He had a school buddy from Kingsport, Tennesse be there to assist him on the following Saturday. It took from 1:30Pm until 6:30PM and he was able to save my teeth and later crown them. I still have them as of today. I am forever thankful for Dr. Mc Spadden. He will be truly missed. Nancy Calloway Elizabethton, Tennessee

John was an inspiration for all who journeyed with him. He was a relative, a car enthusiast, a neighbor once, an inventor, and a dear friend. I will miss the times we had talking about the land around his house, his family, and his sport coats. We will miss him and pray that his life and legacy will continue to be an inspiration to all in our community and the world.
