William “Bill” Waxler of Soddy Daisy went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2020. Bill spent his career in the auto-body industry and upon retirement restored classic cars with his friends as a hobby. He loved attending races, playing cards with family, and opening up his garage to his friends to gather. Those who knew Bill will remember him for his laid-back personality, his smile and a laugh that could light up a room. Bill didn’t meet anyone who didn’t call him “friend”. Bill was survived by his wife Judy, son Jason Reed (Nicole), and daughters Kelly Stewart (Wayne), Kim Gibson (Andy) and Connie Davis (Michael). Grandkids include Justin Stewart (Brennan), Lexi Leffew (Zane), Alex Reed, Jackson Swiney, Layla Reed and Michelle Davis . He had two great grandchildren Hayden Stewart and Reed Leffew for whom he was already building their first hot rod. Bill’s sister is RaeAnn Durbin (Dan) and brother is Denny Waxler. Bill had a niece, several nephews, and many exceptional friends. A private service will be held for the family due to COVID restrictions. In lieu of a public service, the family will be receiving friends at the Veterans’’ Park in Soddy Daisy on December 27, 2020 from 3:00-5:00. The family requests friends wear a mask and adhere to the 6 ft. social distancing requirement. Bill will be dearly missed.
