Always loved going into Chick's Lumber. Chick would always holler across the desk- "Good morning John." Chick was always friendly and upbeat, and would bend over backwards to satisfy his customers. Will forever miss his "bye John" after I got my ticket and headed for the door.

Chick Jr. never failed to make me feel like his most important customer even though I was really "pocket change" to the business. I will miss his smiling face, his booming voice and his ever present laughter.

It did not matter if you saw him every day or every couple of years. He knew your face and voice, called you by name, and ALWAYS was quick with a smile, advice, or a boisterous laugh. He, like his father, was one of a kind...the best kind. He will be GREATLY missed! My condolences go out to his family, and to his sister Allison who is cut from the same cloth.
