Ted Harrol Presson II, age 70, passed away at his home in Soddy Daisy, TN on March 2, 2020. He was born April 15, 1949, the oldest of three children, to Ted and Theda Presson. He graduated from Bruceton High School in 1967. Ted was married to Wanda Robbins on February 14, 1969. He was a member of Boilermaker Local #455.
Ted had a motorcycle career that spanned the better part of 5 decades, including finishing on the podium in American Motorcycle Association national motorcross championships, a national enduro championship, numerous TN and KY state championships, and a reputation as a relentless racer and mentor to younger riders. A fellow racer of Ted’s recently said “I took what he told me when I was 17 and used it in the woods, flat track, sport bike, motards….it’s all still good today.” Through the years Ted made hundreds of friends in the industry and raced professionally for CZ, Yamaha, and Honda. As recently as 2018, Ted won the national enduro championship in the 66+ year old class. He was also a dedicated family man and will forever be admired by people near and far as a “legend.”
He is survived by his daughter, Connie Presson, his son and wife, Will and Deborah Presson, his grandson, Bryson Presson, his granddaughter, Harper Presson, his brother Rocky Presson, and his sister, Tammy Smothers. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Robbins Presson, his grandson, Colton Presson, his father, Ted Presson, and his mother, Theda Presson.
