Obituary of Dorothy Jean Gregory

Dorothy Jean Gregory, 72, of Soddy-Daisy, TN passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in a local healthcare facility. She loved to sew, dance and sing. She was naturally funny, she was fun to be around and always had you laughing. She had a huge heart and a passion for helping others, but especially her family and friends. She attended Soddy-Daisy High School and Highland Beauty Academy where she discovered her talent and her love for "doing hair". She owned and operated Dot's Beauty Salon in Green Pond in the early 1970's. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aurther and Lena Jenkins, adoptive parents, Jack and Beulah Young, brothers, Charles Grayson, Paul Grayson and Junior Grayson, sisters, Beatrice Grayson, Mary Evelyn Grayson and Annie Uptain, special friends, Betty Hatcher and Charlene Kennedy. Survivors include her husband of nearly 56 years, Jerry Allen Gregory, son, Timothy Gregory, daughter, Robin (Troy) Cox, grandsons, Brandon and Shannon Cox and Jonathon Gregory, granddaughters, Kristen Gregory and Jessica Stacy, brothers, Steve Jenkins, Jimmy Jenkins, Jackie Young and Donnie Young, sisters, Patricia Grayson, Geraldine Grayson and Jane Young Smith and special cat, "Tucker". Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with burial following in the Hamilton County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
