I am absolutely devastated. Though I had lost touch with him in the years since he graduated, Adam was one of my favorite students ever and quite possibly the smartest I ever taught. He took me for three classes, and he was the model student who I admired for his intelligence, curiosity, and humanity. He shattered the often misguided but common stereotype of "dumb football jock." Adam was a model we could all aspire to be. When other students are wanting to research safe or common topics, Adam wanted to explore theories in aerospace engineering. I will miss you, and I hold your family in my prayers. Rest in Peace, Adam. You taught me as much or more as I taught you.
