Obituary of Ethan Aaron Hicks

Ethan Aaron Hicks, 28, of Hixson passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020. He was born September 5, 1991 to Terry and Donna Hicks of Hixson, TN. His sister, Amanda, was thrilled to have a baby brother and their loving family was complete. Ethan graduated from Sequoyah High School in Soddy-Daisy in 2010. He was a big-hearted young man who enjoyed coaching youth sports, including Upwards basketball and Dream League Baseball. Ethan had a truly generous and gentle spirit and it was often said of him that “he would give you the shirt off his back” if you needed it. Ethan will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gus and Kathryn Edwards; paternal grandfather, Marvin Hicks; uncle, Ronald Hicks. Survivors include his parents, Terry and Donna Hicks; sister, Amanda Hicks; aunts and uncles, Sandra (Marvin) Wheeler, Peggy (Eddie) Burnette, Laurie (Rae) Ashley, David Hicks, Angie (Willis) Sanders, Mark Hicks and Greg Hicks; cousins, Sam (Meredith) Nye, Kelly (Michael) Ensley, Tripp Ashley, Luke Ashley, Claire Ashley, Jeremy Hicks, Kamryn Hicks, Evan Sanders, Jordan Sanders, Justin Hicks and Josh Hicks. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2020 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tyler Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Wednesday and from 2 PM until the service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
