Obituary of Lois Murphree Lee

Lois Murphree Lee, 97, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020. Mrs. Lee was born in Birmingham, AL and lived the majority of her life in Chattanooga, TN. She was a member of the St. Elmo Church of Christ. She and her husband Jim owned and operated Lee Pharmacy on Broad St. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 69 years, James T. Lee, her parents, James Edwin Murphree and Frances (Lottie) Charlotte Browning Murphree and her sister Evelyn Murphree Lindsay. Surviving are her sister Jimsy Hanket of Washington, DC, Nephews, Jimmy (Carole) Smith, Jim (Mary Helen) Wood, Arthur (Stephanie) Hanket; nieces, Mary Hood, Susan (Sam) Brandt; several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11AM to 1PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 1PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at funeral home with Larry Smith and minister John Cupp officiating. Pall bearers are: Henri Tenthorey, Matthew Wood, Ethan Wood, Ken Hood, David Hood and Joseph Smith.
