Obituary of Glenn F. Thomas, Sr.

Glenn F. Thomas, 88, passed away on November 8, 2019.  He was born on January 23, 1931, in Martinsburg, PA, the youngest of 11 children.  After serving overseas in the Army during the Korean War, he started his lifelong career at Reliance Insurance Company, where he met the love of his life, Dorathy Filburn.  After living in Detroit and Philadelphia, they settled in Chamblee, Georgia, with their children, Helen and Glenn Jr.  They were members of Cross & Crown Lutheran Church in Chamblee, Georgia.

Glenn is preceded in death by his wife, Dorathy, and son, Glenn Jr.  He is survived by his daughter, Helen (Joe) Barbeauld and his grandchildren Joey (Jamie) Barbeauld, Diana (Josh) Perrel, and Thommy (Paige) Barbeauld.  He also had 6 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 22, 2019, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee at 12 noon.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 11:45 am.  Glenn and his wife, Dorathy, will be interred at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2:30 pm on November 22, 2019.

The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Hixson as well as the staff of Kindred Hospice and Comprehensive Care for their care of Glenn in the past year.  The family could not have asked for a more supportive and compassionate care team.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Ministry of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
