Obituary of Corinne McGee

Please share a memory of Corinne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Corinne joined her dearly loved mother, Liza Allison Goree, her father, William Marshall Goree and many other loved ones in Heaven on Tuesday, August 27, 2019.

Corinne was born in Chattanooga, TN in 1944 while her father was in Europe serving in the Army during WWII. She was raised on Lookout Mountain and was the oldest of the Goree sisters: Corinne McGee (George), Marsha Thompson (Bill), Dottie Brock (Frank) and Allison Willson (Sandy).

Corinne and her sisters attended Girls Preparatory School. In the early 1960’s she moved to Nassau in the Bahamas and worked for a local newspaper. Upon her return to Chattanooga, she met George E. McGee III at the Junior League Follies. George and Corinne were married in 1967 and have two daughters, Liza McGee Vannoy, and Tallulah King McGee.

Corinne was an outstanding realtor for two local firms during the 1980’s and 1990’s.
Corinne is the dearly loved grandmother of four grandchildren: Allison, Katherine, Bobby McGee, and Kamp.

Corinne (or “Skeebo" as she was nicknamed), despite a long term lung disease, had a spunky, adventurous spirit, loved to celebrate with creativity and elegance and orchestrate memorable trips and gatherings with her family.

Corinne and George are members of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.
Corinne had a deep love for her family and extended family, but most of all for her Savior, Jesus Christ whom she called “Father.”

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church or the charity of one’s choice.
