Obituary of John "Russell" Pitner

Major John Russell Pitner III, USAF retired, died on May 18, 2019.

Russell graduated from Baylor School, University of Chattanooga, and University of Central Michigan.

 

He proudly served in the US Air Force as a munitions officer (Bombs & Bullets).

 

After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Hamilton County Parks & Recreation, Raytheon, UXB International, and Teledyne Brown Engineering.

 

He was active with the Volunteer Masonic Lodge.

 

Russell is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Christi (Rob) Brisbane of Stafford, VA, Tiffany, and Katrina Pitner of Hixson.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in the funeral home chapel followed by interment in National Cemetery with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
