Mark and I were close friends during our time on the USS Texas. He lived with myself, my wife and kids in Vallejo, CA in 1987-1988. Toward the end of 1989, he offered to host my family while I was stationed in San Antonio, TX while he was recruiting there. I was honored to have met his mother there as well.
Mark was a wonderful and generous friend. My family and I will never forget him. What a great loss to all of us.
