Obituary of Celestia C. Shuck

Celestia C. Shuck, 94, met the Lord Saturday, May 4, 2019.  She died peacefully at home, in the arms of family.  Born and raised in Newbern, TN; she married Edwin Shuck, Jr. in 1945 upon his return from the Service. The couple resided for several years in New Orleans, Memphis, and then settled on Lookout Mountain, GA.

Celes’ was a member of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, the Woodland Garden Club, and the Chattanooga Medical Alliance. She was a longtime volunteer at the Fairyland School and many other charitable organizations.

She took a keen interest and joy in all things culinary, demonstrating her skill and flair throughout her life for family and friends. Although family and home were her enduring passions, she took great pleasure in reading, gardening, and antiques.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Edwin Shuck III (Diane), Michael Chamberlain Shuck, Dr. Susan Shuck, Samuel Walter Shuck (Melissa); granddaughter Rissa Shuck, and her dear sister, Mary Smith.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 10 AM at the Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church with Memorial Service to follow at 11 AM in the sanctuary.  

Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to your favorite charity.
