Obituary of Vernon P. Thomas

Vernon Perry Thomas, 84, of Lakesite, TN passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Klamath Falls, OR on April 19, 1934 to the late Verna Mae Hamilton Thomas Ferguson and Vernon Claire Thomas.  He was very active in the Lakesite Community for many years.  He was an active member of the Jaycees and was a Boy Scout Leader.  He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.  He retired from TVA as an Electrical Engineer and was also a retired Realtor and Commercial Appraiser.

He was preceded in death by his wife and soul mate, Roberta Thomas to whom he was married for 54 years, his parents, and his brothers, Danny, Bruce and Pressley.

 

Survivors include his son, Doug and daughter-in-law, Janice, daughter, Sharon and son-in-law, Sid, grandchildren, Shaun, Danielle, Brandon and Daniel and great-grandsons, Hayden and Austin, and sisters, Barbara, Maxine and Mardell.

 

A Gathering of Friends will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Legacy Funeral Home.  All other services will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to:
