Obituary of Helen Jean Cooney

Helen J. Heffernan Cooney died peacefully on October 21, 2018 in Chattanooga, TN

Helen was born in New Brunswick, NJ and raised in Highland Park, NJ and later lived in Texas and Arizona before moving to the Chattanooga area many years ago.  She was an active parishoner at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Soddy-Daisy.  Helen was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Cooney as well as her parents, John M. and Helen E. Heffernan; her twin sister, Alice Boyd and brothers, Willard, John and Richard Heffernan.  She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews and their families.

There will be no services in Tennessee.  Religious services and burial will take place in New Jersey at the family's request. Memorial donations may be directed to HARC, an agency supporting people with intellectual disabilities at 900 Asylum Ave. Hartford, CT 06105 or www.harc-ct.org.
