Obituary of James Herbert Payne

James Herbert Payne, 84, of Soddy-Daisy passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 20, 2018.

He was born on July 12, 1934 in Greenville, NC. Mr. Payne was an Army veteran, love fishing and spending time with his grandbabies.

 

Survivors include his wife, Thula Payne; sons, Marty (Krystal) Payne and Charlie (Tammy) Payne; daughters, Cheryl (Kim) Clayton and Jamie (Danny) Hillis; grandchildren, David Clayton, Darren Clayton, Matthew Hillis, Sara Hillis, Willie Clayton, Molly Hillis, Carsyn Payne, Greyson Payne, Reagan Payne and Collyn Payne.

 

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in the Legacy Funeral Home chapel with Minister T.A. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
