Obituary of Phyllis Jean Inman

Phyllis Jean Inman, 94, formerly of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 28, 2018 at her home.
Phyllis graduated from Knoxville High School in 1942, earned her bachelor's degree from UT Knoxville in 1946 and received her master's degree in 1969. She worked for the UT Agricultural Extension Service from 1952-1983 retiring as an Associate Professor. Following her retirement Phyllis joined the Peace Corp and served in Belize from 1985-1987 and re-entered the Peace Corp in 1991 and served in Nepal until 1994. Phyllis traveled the world visiting five continents. She was a lifelong member of the Smokey Mountain Hiking Club, a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of the USA and a member of the Southern Highlands Craftsman's Guild.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Lois Inman, sister, Lois Ann Newlin and brother, Martin Inman.
Survivors include her sister, Bobbie Inman Hamby and ten nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on September 14, 2018 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hixson at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Stan Combs officiating.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Morning Point of Hixson for six and one-half years of loving care and compassion.
