In 1973, he was among the visionaries who transformed the Terminal Railroad station to create the Chattanooga Choo-Choo hotel and restaurant complex, one of the first revitalization projects in Downtown Chattanooga. Bud was a longtime member of the Church of the Good Shepherd on Lookout Mountain. His passions were his family, his friends, and nature. He was a member in good standing with the 3-5 Brotherhood, a charter member of the Lookout Mountain Gourmet Club, and a supporter of the Tennessee River Gorge Trust. He is survived by his sister Jill Rueber of Kalamazoo MI, preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, and survived by his children Julie (Mark) Miller, Harlan (DeeDee) Mills, Lisa (George) Liounakos, Robert (Caroline) Mills, and Jennifer (David) Hardy; by his grandchildren Johnny and Jason Miller, Christopher and Ryan Mills, Rachel and Arthur Mills, and Theo and James Hardy; and by his special love, June.
