Dennie, You have joined our loved ones without any farewell from me. I was shocked to hear that you went so soon. But, I think you were ready, having endured so much pain and illness before. Gaila, I am so sorry you have lost your brother. I have known Dennie for many years. I actually saw him a few weeks ago at the Sale Creek Dollar Store . We talked for a few minutes he told me he was sick and was very concerned about it. I told him I would be praying for him. I have so many good memories of Dennie, i wouldn't know where to start!! i remember being at his house, and uncle Leonard...if it weren't for Dennie and my aunt Sheila being best friends, i wouldn't have known my husband. i remember being young, and going to his house to play with chastity and Brittany. i have so many memories of him feeding us, boy! he could cook!! i could never repay him for being so good to my mama, Brenda, he'd give her his ice cream, and we'd sit on the porch at the homeplace and laugh, and act silly, and sometimes, he'd do a little dancing for us!! him and aunt Sheila would turn on the "oldies" and cut a rug...everytime i hear the oldies, i laugh and tell my kids about how they'd dance. i'm so proud to have known him, and how much of my childhood was so full of memories of this man! we were BLESSED to have him for a while, and i bet my mom is chasing him around heaven..and dancing with him..she couldn't wait to come home and go see Dennie Leon! it hurts to see him go, but i have so many memories, and i will cherish them forever..i pray God will give comfort to Gayla, Benny, and Charlotte, they always made sure their brother was taken care of..and now he's with Shirley and big Sid.
