Obituary of Joshua Tillmon French

Joshua Tillmon French of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, died in his home surrounded by his family on January 14, 2016 from brain cancer and went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ. He was born on October 16, 1987, in Texarkana, Texas to Larry Wayne and Pamela Tucker French, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee. He graduated from high school in 2006 from the Family Christian Academy of Tennessee. He earned rank of Eagle Scout from The Boy Scouts of America in 2006. He was a member of the Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle in Hixson, Tennessee where he was active in the choir. He is survived by his parents Larry and Pamela French, his fiancée, Brandii Foy of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee and his two children, Bryan Leeland French and Amelia Sage French of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, two brothers, John Thomas French of Tennessee and Joseph Lee Shumpert of Crossett, Arkansas. One sister, Karen Shumpert Floyd and husband James Floyd of Crossett, Arkansas, one nephew, Johnathan Thomas Hall of Crossett, Arkansas and two nieces, Amber Lynn Hall and Anna Floyd of Crossett, Arkansas. His paternal grandfather, Tillmon French of Newport, Tennessee and aunt Phyllis French and husband Van Fox of Newport, Tennessee. His maternal grandmother, Jean Simpson Tucker of Denton, Texas, Uncle Steven Andrew Tucker of Denton, Texas and great aunt, Mary Simpson Moehring of Mississippi, He was preceded in death by a brother Daniel Eugene Shumpert and maternal grandfather, Thomas Eugene Tucker of Crossett, Arkansas and paternal grandmother, Edna Greer French of Newport, Tennessee, and a great grandmother, Gladys Simpson of Crossett, Arkansas. Services will be at 7 P. M. Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the chapel of Legacy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3 – 7 P. M. Saturday at Legacy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer society and earmarked for brain cancer research.
