Obituary of Minnie Lucille Skates

Minnie Lucille Skates, 94, a life long resident of Hixson passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015.
She was a member of Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Lula Belle Gamblin; daughter, Linda Carol (Skates) Elliott; brothers, Leonard, Chaney, James and Laxton Gamblin; sister, Grace Zigler and grandson, Richard Shannon.
Survivors include her sister, Peggy (Wilburn) Hardyman of Soddy-Daisy sons, John "Ronnie" Skates of Bellevue, Ohio and Leroy (Carolyn) Skates of Soddy-Daisy; daughter, Joyce (Ron) Shannon of Hixson; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two step-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Stancil and Rev. Wilburn Hardyman officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday and from 1 PM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
