William Lawson, Jr., 89, of Hixson passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 in an area healthcare facility. Mr. Lawson retired from Hamilton County Nursing Home after many years of service and was a United States Navy veteran. He was a member of Sale Creek Community Church. He was preceded in death by two wives, Susie Lawson and Lena Lawson; parents, William Lawson, Sr. and Ruby Poole Lawson; daughter, Melinda Lawson; sisters, Marie Worley and Margaret McClure. Survivors include his son, James Lawson; daughters, Pat (Dennis) Goins and Marie Lawson; brothers, George (Darla) Lawson and Harold Lawson; sisters, Loretta (Al McKinley) and Barbara Jenkins; grandchildren, Carolyn (Mackey) Sutton, Donnie (Gail) Goins and Olivia Lawson; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dennis Goins officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Friday at the funeral Home.
