Obituary of Zachary Asher Barnett

Zachary Asher Barnett, 25, died on October 11, 2015, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Zach was born and raised in Asheville, N.C. He was home-schooled through 8th grade, graduated from Asheville Christian Academy, and attended Covenant College. Recently he was a truck driver for Covenant Transport and resided in Chattanooga. Zach was extremely intelligent and creative, and loved art and music. He was kind, gentle, and generous, with a quirky sense of humor. He was devoted to his family, and his family was devoted to him. He is survived by his parents, Tim and Dona (Davenport) Barnett, and five siblings: Elnathan Barnett, Sara Elsbeth Blackman (Brian), Noah Barnett (Miriam), Isaac Barnett (Renee), and Abigail Barnett. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Sue Miller Barnett and Dorothy M. Davenport, 8 aunts, 8 uncles, 1 nephew, 6 nieces, and 27 cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, October 16, 2015, at East Ridge Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Travis Hutchinson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in St. Elmo. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Wann Funeral Home.
