Steve, Lisa and Chris, we are so sorry for the loss of Cameron. I hadn't seen him in a few years, but still remember him vividly from little league baseball at Red Bank. Please accept our condolences and if there is anything we can do to help you all, please do not hesitate to ask. Steve, I'm also glad you are still participating in the Iron Man, your "coach" would definitely want you too.

Cameron, you've come a long way from the days of getting a TAG from me at Alpine Crest Elementary (I'm sure your parents remember that well!) to the incredible man you became . I have many hysterical memories of you from elementary through middle school. It was a privilege to be one of your teachers as well as a family friend. As I look through my pics of you as a young student I can't help but smile and laugh. Though our hearts are broken we continue to smile knowing where you are today as you share your humor with the angels and our loving Savior. Rest well my friend and student. Thank you for making my life brighter! Love and prayers to your wonderful family!

Cameron was a sensation to be around. He was so very energetic and always looking to laugh. Through conversations I found out he never changed and that brought me joy. Just a loss for words and my heart is heavy to know that he can never smile that contagious smile again. But I am happy to know that he is with the lord and that brings me comfort. I just wish I hadn't moved in our 5th grade year at Alpine Crest Elementary but I am thankful I got to spend 6 years with this fantastic human being. This is not goodbye Cameron for it is only see you later. (Picture of Cameron and I in first grade...he is being silly of course)

Neil and Jean Benecke Steve, unfortunately. Jean and I didn't have the opportunity to meet Cameron, but we do know you and that tells us everything we need to know about him. You have our deepest sympathy and compassion during this most difficult time. We are sure he will stay in your heart and mind forever and provide a means of communication to help fill that huge void as a result of his untimely passing. May God keep both you and Cameron in His arms forever. Neil and Jean Benecke

When I look back on my childhood, I think of Cameron. He was the leader of our little pack. I shared a classroom with Cameron from Kindergarten through 5th grade — the exception being 2nd grade when he was in my Mom, Maureen Hall's class (to this day she claims Cameron as one of her "favorite students.) We ventured off to 6th grade together at RBMS, and it wasn't until my 9th grade year at Baylor that I was so excited to have him back. Cameron had more energy than anyone I've ever known — and that wasn't just in our days at Alpine Crest, but high school and beyond. I take comfort knowing Cameron is with his Creator, and because of that we will all feel his contagious energy again soon. The Hall and Buszka families are lifting you all up in our prayers.

Our family got to know Cameron when he was on the Red Bank wrestling team in middle school. Cameron always had such a great sense of humor and was so witty. Cameron was disciplined and had a strong work ethic in whatever he took on. Our sons, have the highest respect for both of your great boys. We are praying for you, Steve and Lisa, and we will continue praying for you in the days ahead. Gene and Rebecca McKnight

I'll never forget you, Cameron. These past few weeks of getting to know a little about you have been a privelege. You're drive, ambition, and humble nature are just a few of the things that made you a wonderful man.... Not to mention your quick wit, sense of humor, and awesome pearl snap shirts! You had a way of making us all laugh and smile. I think that you also were a huge inspiration to all of us to strive to be better at everything we do. I wish we all had more time with you. You'll forever be in our minds, hearts, and a part of our souls. Thank you for being you! Ashley Harry

One year ago, on the last day of summer 2014. I was trail running. The whole purpose of that run was to figure out what I wanted to name my massage therapy practice. I finally came up with Sunny Soul and it fit perfectly. Then I met Cameron about a month ago on the first day of massage class. We instantly had a connection through running but I was blown away by his happy positive spirit. The next day he came in and was so proud to show me the business cards that he designed for himself. I was immediately inspired by his passion and drive and went home and designed my own. Now that I look at those words, "Sunny Soul" I know exactly why he was brought into my life. He will forever be in my heart and I will always honor his Sunny Soul by carrying forward his amazing zest for life and immediate love for others. Michelle Wilson

Lisa and Steve, I understand your pain. Matthew died in 2008. I remember Cameron from Alpine Crest and the YMCA Soccer team. We could see then that he was a gifted athlete. I am in an organization that gives me a lot of comfort in my grief. I urge you to come to the meetings when you are ready. It is The Compassionate Friends of Chattanooga. We meet the second Sunday of each month, 3:00-5:00 at the First Centenary United Methodist Church. The folks there know exactly what you are going through and will help you in your grief. Love to you, Kelley Veazey

I was blessed to coach Cameron at Samford University during his first couple of years. He was funny, inspirational and a hard worker. He lived life to the fullest and will be missed by many, many people. The great news is he has arrived at "home" in heaven to live with his holy Father, Lord and Savior: Jesus Christ. I am so sad for you Steve and Lisa and Chris and Leslie. Cameron was a special person, a ray of sunshine, and it was something you could tell since preschool days. He was funny! I loved hearing the stories he'd tell. I know he's entertaining the Lord and running some races in heaven. The thought of Cameron will always bring a smile to my face. God's peace be with you.

I have just met Cameron's parents this past week. I work in a restaurant in Perdido Key Florida. This young man must have been the most wonderful son and person ever- while trying to get away from their sorrow, and try to ease their pain, albeit briefly, they came down here to vacation. They were at the restaurant tonight and Lisa told me about Cameron. So sad. So young and full of life, how could this happen to such nice people? I am so sorry for this family. Lisa said their lives will never be the same. Cameron- you were loved. Forever and always. God bless you. Lisa Allen (The Oyster Bar restaurant)
