Very sad to hear of his passing, had many memories with Hap. From being a brother-in-law to sharing many miles of that black ribbon highway across this country. He was good man and a great cook, he is the only person i know that could burn chicken and some how make it taste great, one one draw back he took his time. I guess it was from his training in the Air Force the job had to be done right, Will miss him dearly may you rest in peace. Rick Hensley

Dearest Uncle Hap, I am so sad to learn that you have left this world with family that will miss you so much. I know that heaven is a better place with your love and personality. I remember coming to Chicago to visit Grandma and Grandpa Inman in the summer and you keeping us entertained with your funny antics. You were wonderful and funny. We took swimming lessons in Chicago and managed not to drown! You made us laugh all the time. I also had great, really great, memories of visits with you in Des Moines, Iowa, when you lived with Dad and we got to visit often with you there. Love you and am so grateful for the love you gave to Dad and Mom. Love You, Terry Lynn

Dawn, Diana, Jess and Family, I was heartbroken to hear that Hap, my friend had passed on, but I believe God was sitting right there when he entered heaven and I know that everything is ok now. Though I cant physically be with him, I will never forget his stories and his smile. Those things I will always cherish and remember. He was my friend, and I will never forget him. Gary and Toni Love

My prayers and thoughts are with you, Diana, Dawn, and family members. I am asking God to comfort you with His love and the awareness of His presence with you as you go through this time of loss and grief. In Hebrew 13:5, He has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you". My favorite memories of Hap are of various family gatherings. On holidays, especially Thanksgiving, The James and Ruby Crooks Family shared delicious meals and fellowship with Diana, Hap, Dawn, Tom, Benjamin and Joshua. Hap always contributed to the food with his good cooking skills. Louisiana seafood and cajun cooking was one of his favorites, so we sometimes compared eating and cooking experiences and recipes. Hap was a sweet, kind, thoughtful person. Although not directly related, he was one of our family and will be missed. Much love to all of you, G. G. Crooks
