Obituary of Mary Dell Blevins Smith

Mary Dell Blevins Smith, 68, died Saturday, April 6, 2013. She was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Blevins of Kimball, Tn. She loved her family, the outdoors, arts and crafts, and working on the houses she built with her husband. She was retired from the TN Department of Human Services and was a member of Lookout Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Thomas Smith; brother, Carl Blevins; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise Blevins, Casey and Marilynn Smith, and Gene Smith. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Keith Elder, sister, Mildred and Lexie Tyler; brothers, Ken and Patsy Blevins, Austin and Judy Blevins, Bobby and Shelia Blevins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat Blevins, Geneva and O'Dell Geurin, Billie Ann Smith; and 17 nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tennessee River Gorge Trust (trgt.org), 535 Chestnut Street, Suite 214,Chattanooga, Tn. 37402 or the Alzheimers’ Association (alz.org), 7625 Hamilton Park Dr, Ste 22, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421. A graveside service and interment will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, at Lakewood Memory Gardens West with Reverend Lamar Moore officiating. Arrangements are by Wann Funeral Home & Cremation Center, St. Elmo.
