Obituary of Nellie Josephine Austin

Nellie Josephine “Jody” Austin, 75, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Austin was a member of Mountain View Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Austin and parents, Fred and Tressie Gossett. Survivors include sons, Jim (Beverly) Austin of Mt. Juliet, TN, Chris (Jean) Austin of Pinconning, Mi.; daughters, Becky (Alan) Case of Trenton, Ga., and Brenda Austin of Chattanooga, brother, Reverend Everett Gossett (Red Bank Presbyterian Church), seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Mountain View Presbyterian Church with Reverend Chris Austin, Reverend Walt Gienapp and Reverend Eddie Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens West. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until time of the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are by Wann Funeral Home, St. Elmo.
