I had the pleasure of being Mr. Beatty's secretary for a number of years at Miller-Martin in the 1970s, and a finer person I have never met. My sympathies go out to the family.
When I was working summers at Miller-Martin in the 1970s, it was always a highlight when Mr. Beatty took time out of his hectic schedule to say hello and ask how things were going.
Guy, or rather Mr. Beatty, was a key figure in my childhood. His wonderful laugh and kind voice filled our house on many evenings. His gentle yet strong nature is one we will always remember. Patsy, Elizabeth and Yarnell, we hold you all in our hearts and prayers.
