Obituary of Dana Lewis Stoddard

Dr. Dana Lewis Stoddard, 64, of Chattanooga passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at his home. Dr. Dana Stoddard has been a resident of Chattanooga for the past 28 years after moving from East Liverpool, Ohio. He was a member of St. Elmo Presbyterian Church. Dr. Dana Stoddard has planted and pastored five churches in Tennessee and Southwest Louisiana. He also started four Christian counseling centers and served as an adjunct professor at five colleges in the Chattanooga area. For eleven years he worked in teaching and training African American ministers in Chattanooga. He worked with two mental health agencies and served as Men’s Director for Harvest USA’s Chattanooga office. He partnered in ministry with Route 1520. Dr. Stoddard has a B.A. from Geneva College, an M.A. in Social Sciences from McNeese State University, and a M.Div. and D. Min in Pastoral Counseling from Westminster, he studied extensively under C. John (Jack) Miller, a man who left indelible fingerprints on all he did. Dr. Stoddard is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna; sons, Matthew Stoddard, David Stoddard and Brian Stoddard; daughter, Kristen Stoddard Chandler; brothers, Roy Stoddard and Everett Stoddard and twelve grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at St. Elmo Presbyterian Church with Rev. Cal Boroughs officiating. Share your memories at wannfuneralhome.com.
