Derral Edward Waters, 30, of Hixson passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012 in an area hospital. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Robbie Purser Simpson. Survivors include his parents, Dale and Carolyn Waters of Hixson; sister, Jennifer Waters of Hixson; grandfather, Homer Simpson of Dunlap; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a nephew that loved him dearly. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 7 PM on Friday, December 28, 2012 in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Erlanger, 975 E. Third St. Chattanooga, TN 37402, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 2151 Memphis, TN 38101-2151 or Sequatchie County Cancer Network, P O Box 98 Dunlap, TN 37327.
