Jean R. Moore, 83, of Chattanooga passed away peacefully Monday, November 19, 2012. She was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church and the Friendship Fellowship Class. Jean was a 1948 City High Graduate and Miss City High, attended the University of Chattanooga, where she was a UC Beauty and studied art. Her passion was oil painting and she dedicated her talent to teaching others how to paint for 45 years. She was an officer and member of the Civics Art League, Regional Art Alliance, Tennessee League of Artists and AVA. Jean's paintings are so beautiful and will be enjoyed by many for years to come. She was preceded in death by her devoted spouse of over 50 years, Kenneth A. Moore, Sr.; son, Terry Moore; father, Val F. Reich, Jr.; mother, Edna M. Reich; and brother Val Reich III. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother, and is survived by son Ken A. Moore, Jr.; daughters, Debbie Steele and Diane Austin; twin brother James 'Jimmy' Reich of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Jarod Ownbey, Kaitlyn Steele, Ashley Kershaw with great granddaughter Layla; brother-in-law Judge Don Moore, Jr., five nieces and three nephews. A family graveside service was held Wednesday, November 21 at Beautiful Greenwood with the Rev. Geneve DeHogue officiating. Friends and family will join in celebration of her life on Monday, November 26 at Brainerd United Methodist Church from 1:00 to 3:30 in the Friendship Fellowship Class. Special thanks to the staff of The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Hixson who so compassionately cared for her over a year and Hospice of Chattanooga for her end-of-life care, allowing her to pass with dignity and beauty as the person she was. She will be missed by many, and by a special friend, Corky Bridge. Donations in her memory may be made to Brainerd United Methodist Church, Continuing To Bless Fund, 4315 Brainerd Road, Chatt.
