Richard Paul Fehrenbacher, 78, of Soddy-Daisy Tennessee, passed away on October 29, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Fehrenbacher, and his mother, Marie Fehrenbacher, both of Hobart, Indiana. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Jo Ann, of Soddy-Daisy; his children, Richard Fehrenbacher of Seattle, Washington, Robert Fehrenbacher of Taylors, South Carolina, Kaye Gutwein of Monticello, Indiana, and James Fehrenbacher of Brandon, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Hobart, Indiana, High School, Class of 1952, and attended Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. He began his career as an industrial engineer trainee at United States Steel in Gary, Indiana, eventually becoming plant manager of Southern Metal Services of Gulfport, Mississippi. After retirement, he served as consultant for many companies, including Tennessee Trailer of Soddy-Daisy. He also served as Master Gardner for the Chattanooga Food Bank and Docent at the Tennessee Aquarium, and was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Soddy-Daisy. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 3 at 10:00 A.M at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Monsignor Al Humbrect officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Ministry Program at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 10768 Dayton Pike, Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, 37379, The Twin Lakes Backpack Program, Food Finders Food Bank, 50 Olympia Court, Lafayette, Indiana, 47909 or Jacob Hamm Scholarship Fund, Tri-Creek Education Foundation, Inc., 195 Oakley Avenue, Lowell, Indiana, 46356.
